In Ukraine, the price of gas transportation for entrepreneurs has already increased by more than 4 times. However, no changes in tariffs are currently foreseen for the population, because during martial law there is a moratorium on increasing utility tariffs.
However, the population will still experience a significant increase in tariffs, because the cost of electricity will increase dramatically, and ordinary residents will have to pay more for all goods and services. Therefore, a rapid increase in food prices in Ukraine is predicted - from 10 to 20%.
Everyone is interested in the question "Can the moratorium on increasing gas tariffs for the population be terminated early?". Cancellation is currently possible only by decision of the Verkhovna Rada.
Is this possible? Currently, the International Monetary Fund's requirement, which Ukraine has agreed to, that utility tariffs should be equal to market rates, is being recorded.
If the Ukrainian Parliament does lift the moratorium, the very next morning the National Commission for the Regulation of Electricity and Gas Regulatory Commission may decide to increase tariffs for the population.
